RINDERTRAINING Working Equitation (Cattle work)

I accompanied my sister Maike to a cattle training with her younger show horse ´Lucky Chance´. They are training for their next competitions in Working Equitation, where cattle work is one of four disciplines. In competition the rider has to separate a certain cow from the herd, push it down the fence and into a marked area. As usual the training does not look as spectacular as the show. :) Most of it is quiet, slow work in the herd, getting the horse used to the cows and still have it listening and reacting on the riders aids. Lucky gets nervous easily and is very motivated to do the work all by himself without waiting for his rider - so he has to do mostly slow, technical work on the cows and after every fast move he needs to calm down first. Have fun watching the training. :) For more videos about dressage and Working Equiation trainign have a look at Maikes Youtube channel: Instagram:
