Week 31 of a series I’m calling “52 Licks.“ 1 new jazz phrase for each week. We’re doubling up on Elvin. Why? Why not?? This is a cool lick I’ve heard him use a bunch. It’s in the same solo we checked out awhile ago: “Crisis“ from Freddie Hubbard’s “Ready for Freddie“ album. It’s a common triplet sticking but it’s built within a larger quarter note triplet.
