SIN AMPARO - Vals with English translation Orquesta Típica Victor c. Oscar Ugarte 26-07-1932 Information on the video notes (Show More) So much more with the Facebook Group: Today’s Tango Is… Music: Miguel Padula Lyrics: Nicolás A. Trimani Photo: Oscar Ugarte (left) With only two recordings with Orquesta Típica Victor, both made on the same day, it may seem that 26 July 1932 was Oscar Ugarte’s “Big Day“. However, Oscar Ugarte was not so much specifically a tango singer as a ’cantor nacional’ or ’national singer’; that is a singer whose repertoire represented the various traditional national and provincial styles of Argentina: canciones, cifras, zambitas, estilos, tonadas, traditional milonga pampeanas etc. His forte was radio and that was where his career developed with a twenty year residency at Radio El Mundo. Con agradecimiento a WITHOUT PROTECTION Farewell, light of my heart You’ll never laugh I know that in your soul there’s no love And I’m tired of suffering I’m going, woman, I’m off! I felt the joy of love, Woman, with eagerness and passion, The peace of a sweet dawn, But I also saw with huge sadness, Woman, your shabby betrayal.
