In this way Homage to Chopin establishes a connection between Chopin’s romantic piano music and the dizzy brusqueness of contemporary composition. The German premi?re of this work was recorded in the Kongressaal in Munich and was performed by Rodion Shchedrin himself, Nicolas Economou, Paul Gulda, son of Friedrich Gulda, and the famous American jazz pianist Chick Corea.
