The college adopted its constitution and established its office at Institute Delhi (SL No. 3740, dated May 25, 1968). Some of the founder members who were instrumental at that time to establish the College were Prof. D.N. Shivpuri (Allergologist), Prof. R.K. Sanyal (Pharmacologist), Prof. R. Vishwanathan (Pulmonologist), and Prof. A.S. Paintal (Physiologist). The latter two were Directors of V.P. Chest Institute.
