Zebrafish developing under microscope - Digital Embryo

453 620 images combine to show how a zebrafish embryo develops, from 2 different perspectives: viewed from the animal pole, so called because cells in this area are very active, dividing rapidly, and the vegetal pole, where cells divide slowly. To obtain this movie, EMBL scientists created a new microscopy technique: DSLM. Every 90 seconds, the microscope’s laser scanned 370 different layers of the embryo, recording the nucleus of each cell (white dots). With this and other videos, they created a blu
