Frantic Shenzhou-16 landing preparation as Crew set to return after Tiangong Handover

JUST IN: The tawny Dongfeng landing site near Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the breathtaking Gobi desert is gearing up for the return of the #Shenzhou16 crew. The Shenzhou-16 trio will come back to Earth on , after spending about 5 months in space. Dongfeng Landing Site in N China’s Inner Mongolia, got ready on Friday for return of Shenzhou-16 and the 3 astronauts aboard it from China Space Station. The Shenzhou-16 crew and the Shenzhou-17 crew held a handover ceremony to pass the keys to the Chinese space station on Sunday. So far, the Shenzhou-16 taikonauts have accomplished all their planned tasks and will return to the Dongfeng landing site in the Gobi Desert, North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on October 31, 2023. #chinaspace #shenzhoulanding
