Bobcat catches gopher

After several inches of rain in San Diego’s back country, the ground was soft and it was the perfect time for pocket gophers (Family Geomyidae) to begin digging fresh tunnels. The fresh digging attracted the attention of this bobcat (Lynx rufus). He hunts, stalks, and successfully catches a gopher making it a good day for the bobcat, but not for the gopher. The stabilization in the video is poor due to our shooting conditions: We are about 100 yards away shooting with a hand held dslr without a tripod.
