Taiwan Watch SEQALU from August 30 on or our Youtube channel! On March 12, 1867, the American merchant ship Rover wrecked off the coast of southern Taiwan. Survivors who made it ashore were then beheaded for violating indigenous Taiwanese territory—a tragedy immortalized as the Rover Incident. SEQALU: Formosa 1867 is based on historic events and features a mixture of real and imagined characters. It takes the audience back to 19th-century Taiwan, and brings to life the ancient stories and beautiful souls of this island.
