UK: QUEEN ATTENDS FILM PREMIERE

(9 Nov 1998) English/Nat Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, attended the Royal film premiere of the new movie The Parent Trap in London on Monday night - and met the British star of the original version. The Queen, wearing a full-length golden gown with an embroidered bodice, was introduced to the stars of the Walt Disney film. Film stars Natasha Richardson, Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan were among the first to arrive at the Odeon in London’s Leicester Square on Monday night. Among the other special guests were Hayley Mills, who arrived with her father Sir John Mills to watch the film which stars child star Lindsay Lohan. But all eyes were on Her majesty the Queen. She met Richardson, Quaid and Hayley Mills, who starred in the original film The Parent Trap 37 years ago. Dennis Quaid’s film star wife, Meg Ryan, took a back seat to her husband and stood behind him during the Royal line-up. Quaid and Richardson play the separated parents of twin girls who are reunited by accident.
