Dust mites under the microscope

Upon returning from vacation I realized that I had forgotten a jar full of water next to the microscope. I used it to rinse a pipette. As I was about to empty it, I realized that it was full of strange white dots inside... Looking at them with a magnifying glass, I saw that they were alive! Here they are under the microscope: thousands of mites!
