Andrey Sychra “Oh, I Feel Sick Being on the Other Side“ (Ахъ Тошно Мне На Чужой Сторонь)

Russian tune arranged for 7 string gutiar by Andrey Sychra (1773-1850). “Oh, I feel sick on the wrong side...” was a popular romance by Yu. A. Neledinsky-Meletsky (in the original: “Oh! I feel sick...” (1791). In 1824 Kondratiy Ryleev set the tune to new lyrics concerning the injustice of serfdom, and it became popular among the Decembrist revolutionaries. Due to the existence of revolutionary alterations in 1825, Neledinsky’s romance was banned. The song also uses some motifs from the widespread folk song “The Voice of One Crying in Military Settlements...”
