Gamel, the first brand of bright, intelligent bicycle helmets, announces the launch of its first model. In recent years, Paris and other European metropolises have seen an exponential increase in the number of cyclists. Now seen as a solution to transport strikes and other traffic jams, the “velotaf“ is gaining more and more followers and transforming the urban landscape. As local authorities encourage this transition, more and more infrastructures isolate these soft mobility from the rest of the traffic, but there are still many meeting areas. Equipped with a unique intelligent lighting system, the Gamel Remarquable is on its way to becoming the safest urban bicycle helmet on the market. Full lighting, automatic turn signals... and more! Riding a bike through city traffic can be a hazard during rush hour or when visibility is limited. Although lighting and catadiodes are mandatory, the effectiveness of these devices is limited because of the multiple and confusing light sources. With an LED signature visible from all angles, the Gamel Remarquable stands out from the lights of cars or motorized two-wheelers. But that’s not the whole story. This bike helmet is the first to integrate intelligent stop and turn signals. Without remote control, it can be used on a bike or scooter, but also on skateboard or rollerblades. No risk of forgetting your handlebar control or being betrayed by a tired battery; all the technology is on your head. The Gamel Remarquable is equipped with accelerometric and gyroscopic sensors and listens to your movements. Changing direction? Nod your head in the desired direction, a sound will be heard and your Gamel Remarquable will activate the flashing light for 8 seconds following your movement. Braking hard? The tail light intensifies to indicate your deceleration. A unique and durable technology: Designed to be easily disassembled and interchanged, the on-board electronics offer 3 operating modes accessible at the touch of a button: a daytime mode, limiting continuous lighting to the rear light, a full nighttime mode and a flashing nighttime mode, particularly suitable for poor visibility conditions. With its 10h autonomy, most of its users will only need to recharge it once a week. Its rear interface also houses the magnetic connector compatible with the supplied USB cable, the power and mode selection button, as well as a battery indicator light. The Gamel Remarquable is IP55 rated and designed to withstand the elements. Ergonomics include a premium Fidlock® magnetic buckle that’s both convenient and secure. Its EPS and polycarbonate structure offers impact protection at the highest level of the best helmets on the market, and despite its on-board technology, the helmet weighs only 350g.
