The band that takes its name from an obscure line in a classic horror flick (1977’s The Sentinel) lives up to its namesake. I give you Buffalo, NY’s Black and White Cat / Black and White Cake. Twin guitar attack, distorted bass, moody synths, icy mechanical drums, and baritone vocals all tightly stacked on top of each other then pushed into the red. Paranoid and claustrophobic as all things dark, goth, and post-punk should be. “Dirt Nap” is the latest single off their self titled LP due out Saturday October 5th on Swimming Faith Records.
