Out of all the native South Florida fish, Striped Mojarra (Eugerres plumieri) are the most curious ones. They always come up and stare at my gopro. Sometimes they even ignore the bait and go straight for the underwater camera. I shot these footage at the brackish water canal near my house. Unfortunately, the oyster reef is getting smaller and smaller every year. It’s shame. Also, there are lots of invasive African Tilapia in there. Salt water doesn’t seem to bother them and they breed like crazy.
