APOCALYPSIS UNE OEUVRE DE THÉÂTRE MUSICAL Les 26, 27 et 28 juin 2015, au Sony Centre for the Performing Arts de Toronto, dans le cadre du Festival Luminato, était présenté pour la première fois en version intégrale depuis sa création en 1980, Apocalypsis de R. Cette fabuleuse épopée musicale en deux parties décrit, premièrement, la destruction du monde, et deuxièmement la naissance d’un Nouveau Monde. Dans l’un des plus grands événements des arts de la scène au Canada, Apocalypsis combinait des talents amateurs et professionnels dans une distribution de près de 1000 chanteurs, musiciens, chefs d’orchestre, acteurs et danseurs pour créer un spectacle visuel, musical et spirituel inégalé. Murray Schafer’s Apocalypsis was performed in full, for the first time since its world premiere in 1980, under the direction of Lemi Ponifasio and the baton of Toronto conductor David Fallis, as part of Luminato Festival. Schafer’s epic musical voyage is in two parts: “Part One describes the destruction of the world and Part Two suggests the birth of the new universe.“ In one of the largest performance events Canada has ever seen, Apocalypsis blended professional and amateur talents in a cast of almost one thousand singers, musicians, conductors, actors and dancers to create an unprecedented feast for the eyes, ears and soul.
