Unidentified Lady Singer, Cello & Piano (1929-1930)

No titles. Unidentified Lady Singer, Cellist Samehtini and Piano. Probably filmed in Pathe Studio, London. On a wonderful set with palm trees and a circular archway in the background, we see a man, Samehtini, playing cello, and another playing piano. The tune is ’Marie’, played at quite a slow tempo. A middle-aged soprano enters through the archway singing “I love you! I love you!“. She is dressed in an archetypal 1920s evening dress with layered handkerchief hem and massive feather fan. She goes on to sing the chorus of the song. Closer shot of the singer and musicians. C/U of cellist playing his solo. M/S of the group with the singer standing beside the piano. Fade out as she sings the final notes. Unfortunately, there are no details as to who these musicians are. If anyone knows, please contact us. Note: item is slightly out of synch throughout due to early sound recording. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. IT’S FULL OF GREAT DOCUME
