Pathology Grossing - Wide Local Excision Specimen

How we gross a wide local excision specimen in the Pathology lab. This was a specimen of buccal mucosa which had a malignant squamous cell carcinomatous growth, seen as pearly white beaded growth over the mucosa. A thorough gross examination and sampling is the first and most important step that ensures we get good microscopy slides.
