Sanskrit Subhashita संस्कृतः त्यजेदेकं कुलस्यार्थे ग्रामस्यार्थे कुलं त्यजेत् | ग्रामं जनपदस्यार्थे आत्मार्थे पृथिवीं त्यजेत् || कुटुम्बे यदि एकः अविवेकी अस्ति, तर्हि कुलस्य हितार्थं स: दूरे स्थापनीयः | ग्रामाय हितं भवति चेत् एकं कुलं दूरे स्थापनीयम्। देशाय हितं भवति चेत् एकः ग्रामः त्यजनीयः। आत्मसाक्षात्काराय संसारः त्यजनीयः । इत्युक्ते सांसारिकव्यवहारः त्यजनीयः। ಕನ್ನಡ ತ್ಯಜೇದೇಕಂ ಕುಲಸ್ಯಾರ್ಥೇ, ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಯಾರ್ಥೇ ಕುಲಂ ತ್ಯಜೇತ್ | ಗ್ರಾಮಂ ಜನಪದಸ್ಯಾರ್ಥೇ, ಆತ್ಮಾರ್ಥೇ ಪೃಥಿವೀಂ ತ್ಯಜೇತ್ || ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅವಿವೇಕಿ ಇದ್ದರೆ, ಕುಲದ ಹಿತದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ದೂರವಿಡಬೇಕು. ಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿತವಾಗುವುದಾದರೆ, ಒಂದು ಕುಲವನ್ನೇ ದೂರವಿಡಬೇಕು. ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿತವಾಗುವುದಾದರೆ, ಒಂದು ಗ್ರಾಮವನ್ನೇ ಬಿಡಬೇಕು. ಆತ್ಮ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕಾದರೆ ಸಂಸಾರವನ್ನೇ ಬಿಡಬೇಕು. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಲೌಕಿಕ ವ್ಯವಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಬೇಕು.
