A year prior to “CITY SCREAM“ being officially released on Yuji Toriyama’s 1985 album “A Taste of Paradise“, a demo version of the song appeared in a 1984 commercial advertising Panasonic’s NV-870HD VCR model while legendary singer and dancer, Janet Jackson, dances to the song. Interestingly, while the the song is still sung by Cindy, the demo of “CITY SCREAM“ features different lyrics, prominent backing vocals, and additional bass guitar notes.
