When Johnny Comes Marching Home – Piano solo

When the Cvil War ended, Washington D.C. saw the largest military parade in American history. More than 150,000 soldiers from the Army of the Potomac and Sherman’s Army of the West marched through Washington where hundreds of thousands of people had gathered to see the heroes who had fought to preserve the Union and to ensure the triumph of liberty over slavery. They stood packed along Pennsylvania Avenue to greet the soldiers with cheers and roars while bands played “When Johnny Comes Marching Home”. This instrumental version is by Marcos Molina.
