This is round 10 of the 2008 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, and round 3 of the 2008 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Lites East Championship from the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL. Returning contenders like 2004 SX champ Chad Reed, Mike Alessi, 2007 MX champ Grant Langston, Nick Wey, Ivan Tedesco, 450cc rookie Josh Hill, Tim Ferry, David Vuillemin, Nathan Ramsey, Kevin Windham, and defending champ James Stewart battle it out for the 2008 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. This year features another season-long battle between Chad Reed and Kevin Windham. A horrendous deluge of rain covers the track in mud just hours before the event. This race is well known for Chad Reed’s bike overheating with only 3 turns remaining, resulting in a 7th place finish (Reed was originally credited with 6th, but was docked 1 position [or 3:30] for gaining a position on re-entering the Daytona track.) That opens the door for Kevin Windham, who wins his first
