Rope Climb - Down Efficiency Two options for coming down the rope. Slide with loose hands: This is an advanced option for those comfortable with rope climbs. Hands at the height of the chest. Slowly loosen the grip and loosen the feet. Slide for 1-2 ft and regrip. Practice short slide increasing distance with comfort. Hand-over-hand: This option is more secure for those newer to rope climbs. Slowly down climb each hand under the other hand loosening the feet as you go.
