Sita Odissi Abhinaya performed by Shankhanada Nruyanusthan Group from Bhubaneshwar in Hridaypur Nandonik Classical Dance and Music Festival 2023-24 held on 23rd January at Barasat Rabindrabhaban. Rama is the seventh and one of the most popular avatars of Vishnu. In Rama-centric traditions of Hinduism, he is considered the Supreme Being. This story follows his fourteen-year exile to the forest urged by his father King Dasharatha, on the request of Rama’s stepmother Kaikeyi; his travels across forests in the Indian subcontinent with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana; the kidnapping of Sita by Ravana, the king of Lanka, that resulted in war. Music Composition: Guru Sukant Kumar Kundu Rythm Composition:Guru Dhaneshwar Swain Dance Composition: Guru Lingaraja Swain Performed By: Prasanta Kumar Sahoo, Kumar Tubula, Yudhistir Pradhan ,Raghunath Pradhan and Tapan Kumar Tarei This endeavor by Hridaypur Nandonik was to create a platform for array of budding dancers to upcoming professionals to internationally acclaimed exponents .More than 70 performers from different classical dance forms like Monipuri , Kathak,Bharatnatyam, and Odissi took part in this vocal and instrument were performed art work exhibition by school students to commemorate the centinary of publication of AbolTabol was also organized. Eminent film maker Sri Sandip Ray was chief guest and other distinguished personalities were also present there in the Nandonik has decided to organize this festival every year in coming years to promote the rich cultural heritage of our country.
