‘Buccaneers of Buzz’ for solo guitar composed by Darrin Archer. MCM Head of Guitar Ken Murray gave the first performance of the work on 3 August 2019 as part of the Guitar Perspectives Winter Celebration. This is the fourth new work commissioned specially for Guitar Perspectives though a generous donation from Peter and Rasika Crowley. Recorded by Leo Dale at WeFo studios on an Altamira N3 guitar made by Hanson Yao. The title comes from a poem by Emily Dickinson: Bees are Black, with Gilt Surcingles — Buccaneers of Buzz. Ride abroad in ostentation And subsist on Fuzz. Fuzz ordained — not Fuzz contingent — Marrows of the Hill. Jugs — a Universe’s fracture Could not jar or spill.
