Jeff Sims shares the harrowing account of his escape from the fire, including the anomalies seen such as a central air conditioner unit in a protected stucco alcove that sparked, sputtered, ignited, and exploded straight upward, while the fire was still over 3 buildings away! He tells how he had to drive UNDER the flames on Kelawea many times as the fire passed over him while jumping across the road from house to house.
