Police were seen using batons and dogs to disperse thousands of anti-lockdown protesters who flooded the streets of Amsterdam on Sunday.
Protesters marched with little social distancing and few masks, chanting slogans against a lockdown before making their way to a park where they held up banners and signs.
Police intervened as the gathering had been banned due to security risks and for fear of violence.
The current lockdown measures in the Netherlands, aimed at curbing rising infection rates, was implemented on 19 December and is currently planned to last until 14 January.
