Yes, boiled linseed oil CAN combust as it dries!

Best viewed in 720p My buddy, Rob, and I have been working on a portable workbench for his apartment. He’s done most of the ’bench’ part, so we came over to do a final sanding with my random orbital sander, then hit the bench with a coat of boiled linseed oil. You’ve heard all about it: BLO must be aired out as it dries because it heats up and can catch fire and blah blah blah. So of course, we had to find out. The upshot? Be careful with your BLO rags! They most definitely can ignite as they dry! Like what you see? hit ’like’ and hey, why not subscribe?
