Grumman A-6E TRAM Intruder 1/72 Italeri 1392 Full Build Video | RWO Models

The Grumman A-6 Intruder is a US carrier-based twin-jet all-weather attack aircraft in service with the United States Navy and Marine Corps. It was designed during the late 1950s and early 1960s as a close air support attack bomber capable of hitting the enemy at any time. The A-6 Intruder was built in various versions and was a very advanced aircraft for its time. It saw action in the Vietnam War where it was extensively used, in the Lebanon conflict, during the Gulf War in 1991 and finally in Iraq, Somalia and over Bosnia. The last Intruders were retired in 1997. The model built in this video shows an A-6E TRAM Intruder, United States Marine Corps, VMFA(AW)-533 “Hawks“ during Operation Desert Storm, Shaikh Isa Air Base, Bahrain 1992. The Italeri kit is part of the “Gulf War“ Series, released as a re-box in 2017 and was also sold by Tamiya and a few other brands. The quality of the kit is not too bad overall though it has a few problems. Cockpit, fuselage, instrument panel and a few other parts have fit issues that need to be addressed, otherwise the detailing is good and allows for a nice build out of the box. After all I would recommend to use a few aftermarket parts, especially bombs and missiles. The included parts require a lot of work but are only of average quality at best.
