Vintage AKAI GX-635D GX Focused Field Reel to Reel made between 1978-1981. I believe this to be an earlier model due to the Red in color record Mute button but I was not able to find any dates on the run capacitor. This deck has the Rare head cover that does not have the Azimuth holes in it. Very seldom to find these. This deck has Auto Reverse and Bi-Directional Recording. See Video. I make these videos at the backside of the tape to show how the Auto Reverse Feature works during Recording and Playback. This is 2 Channel, 4 Track Deck. 6 Heads, 3 Motors and the Capstan motor is Direct Drive. Takes Reel sizes up to 10 1/2 Inches. Two Speed deck, 3 3/4 and 7 1/2 ips. This is a 120 V Deck
