Visit Visit our website Dating to 1968, these Mattel Inc. television commercials include the Talking Barbie and Talking Stacey dolls, and the Creepy Crawlers toy. Creepy Crawlers, also called Thingmaker, is an activity toy made by Mattel, beginning in 1964. The toy consists of a series of die-cast metal moulds resembling various bug-like creatures, into which is poured a liquid chemical substance called “Plastigoop“, which comes in assorted colors. Talking Stacey was Barbie doll’s “British chum”, part of the new group of Talking dolls for 1968. These dolls have a British accent, bendable knees, rooted lashes, straight long hair, blonde or titian tied on the right with a green ribbon.
