Vladimir Krainev playing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto no. 2, op. 18, with the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra under Konstantin Ivanov. This magnificent performance by Krainev was recorded after he won the Tchaikovsky competition in 1970. It’s ripped from a LP. The photo from the early ’60s shows Heinrich Neuhaus’s class. Seated next to him is Lev Naumov; to the far left is Alexei Nasedkin; Vladimir Krainev stands behind Neuhaus.
