Synagogue firebombed after antisemitic attack in France
Police have shot dead a man believed to have used a petrol bomb in an arson attack on a synagogue in Rouen in northern France, according to Gérald Darmanin, the interior minister.
The suspect was a 29-year-old Algerian who applied for a residency permit in France in 2022 on the grounds that he was ill and needed treatment. His application was refused after a consultation with a doctor, Darmanin said.
