DIY FLOPPY DRIVE CNC: Part 6 - Making the Hybrid and Zero Tracking Sensor
One of the hardest parts of making the machine is mounting the zero tracking sensor, this small light gate tells the logic in your floppy drive where the zero point of the sled position is (when it is tripped), essentially it acts as a limit switch. We need to take it out of our floppy drive and extend the wires, so it can be mounted to our new CD-Rom sled assembly. Also we extended our wires from our sensor and stepper so the floppy circuit can be separate from the machine.
