The Silmarillion is JRR Tolkien’s life work which is the background of the popular books: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It tells the history of the World up to that point in many stories, beginning with the creation of the world. The stories are mostly tragic. Yet they are a rich history waiting to be known by all travelers of Middle Earth.
