#MG42 #machinegun #MG34 The Carleton University Firearms Association (CFA) executive team was invited to Marstar Canada to learn about the development of firearms and review several unique pieces in their working collection. The CFA had the opportunity to take a closer look at the German-made MG42 and MG34 machine guns. The team learned about the different design philosophies and manual of arms of these two machines and noticed several unique aspects. Some observations: - The MG42 has a much higher firing rate than the MG34 - The bipod design on the MG34 made a significant difference to accuracy compared to the MG42 - The select fire option of the MG34 made follow up shots easier and more precise - The quick removable barrel option for both machines guns are unique and innovative for its time - The MG34 was mostly made out of milled parts compared to the MG42 with stamped parts Disclaimer: The following video was filmed with the permission and supervision of professionals.
