This intriguing sonata is the only instrumental piece attributed to Neapolitan composer Gaetano Veneziano. Its authorship might be questionable but the presence of a “Bergamasca“ ostinato connects it to the Neapolitan Christmas tradition. A forgotten masterpiece by young Veneziano?
