TE114: Soviet locomotive for the Arabs. There is only one in Russia!
Diesel locomotives TE114 were built in Lugansk in the period 1977 - 1985. They were exported to the countries of Africa and the Middle East: Syria, Iraq, Egypt, and unexpectedly to Guinea, and more than 100 diesel locomotives also ended up in Cuba. 286 locomotives were built, but only 14 units worked in the USSR: they were used in industrial enterprises.
To date, the only “living“ diesel locomotive TE114 in Russia is working at a linen plant in the Kaluga region.
This video was made in august 2020. We took a car and rushed to Kaluga in attempt to catch this rare and uniqe locomotive. But also I will show you a huge dump truck BELAZ as well as a 2M62U locomotive carrying a small freight train along an inactive railway branch Vyazma - Fayansovaya.
