Avon S10 VS Scott GSR Respirator

The S10 respirator when introduced into service in the 1980s was one of the best gas masks ever designed, it served the British armed forces faithfully for around 30 years before it was replaced. The mask that replaced it was the Scott General Service Respirator or GSR. However is the GSR a good replacement for the S10, and what other masks were available to order as a replacement.
