Thailand has been rocked by protests and riots, almost daily, during the last few weeks by thousands of protesters that demand the prime minister’s Prayuth resignation over his bungling of the government’s coronavirus vaccination program while Thailand has seen infection rates surge while vaccination rates remain low. But the protests are also part of a wider demand for sweeping political change that includes the resignation of the government, a new constitution and above all the fundamental reform of the monarchy in the country.
