One day the priest tells Hariya the truth that the woman who he calls Pagli Maa is his own mother. and his father who was a farmer, Ram Singh, who died when their farmland was deceitfully taken by Thakur Balram (Amjad Khan). A few days later Pagli Maa dies, and Hariya swears to take back his ancestor’s land from Balram. Hariya falls in love with Shyamlee (Rekha) who he later finds to be a Courtesan. Hariya’s best friend is Balraj (Raj Babbar) who is Balram’s nephew. To create a rift between the two friends, Balram transfers Hariya’s land rights to Balraj. Hariya had rescued Sharda (Reena Roy) from the decoits and when Balraj finds her with Hariya he goes furious and fights with Hariya.
