“They’ve never seen us together behind the scenes, so let’s make them think we’re weirdos!“ miComet pranks all of ReGLOSS using this premise. First off: Ririka.

A bit of a weird video for me, since it technically involves zero editing (that is, no cutting and tweaking and whatnot). It is in fact the full unedited segment from the New Year stream. So to make up for it, I went all out with the graphics and texts (subs styling and effects). It’s also weird for me to release something that soon after the stream, but I loved this pranks series so much I had to get at least one segment ready while it’s still fairly fresh.
As an exercise, I decided to match (as much as possible) the font style, colors, and effects of the official Japanese subtitles. It’s not an exact match, and I had to get inventive to make use of the screen real estate (sometimes blocking the official subtitles, sometimes showing my own above/below them). I also just went with my usual subs style now and then either out of laziness or lack of space... The original was cut fairly “tight“ too, with a higher pace than my usual edits, so hopefully it’s not too jarring, and the subtitles are on screen long enough to take in.
I hope I did the segment justice: it was honestly one of the funniest things hololive has ever put out, in my (admittedly quite biased) opinion. If the video is well received, I absolutely intend to work on other parts of the “pranks“ series. First all of ReGLOSS, then maybe the longer pranks involving Lui and La , as well as Roboco, Mel and Noel. Whether and how quickly I do so will depend on a few factors, though. If no one watches this one, I’ll likely be a bit less motivated. Or if someone else puts out a good version of one of the pranks, I might as the very least skip over it and work on another before that one. You get the idea. Let me know if you enjoyed this one and/or what to do differently for future installments, if any.
Other factors influencing my clip output these days: I’m technically still fairly heavily medicated, focus and effort are both challenging, and I have another month of that to look forward to (but once again, it’s not at all life threatening, just inconvenient, so don’t worry). When the stars align, if this here clip is any indication, I can still put in the work, and apparently surprisingly quickly (by my standards anyway).
The other big factor coming up: The Mario Kart tournament is right around the corner! I of course intend to continue my “Kart to Survive“ series chronicling Suichan’s adventures, be sure to watch the previous episodes if you haven’t yet! It’s only five and a half hours long in total (yes, really). She has not in fact streamed Mario Kart much at all this year, so I might end up deciding there isn’t the material for a “training arc“ type episode, and cover solely the tournament itself. As I write this, she did one stream practicing new courses in time trial, and she joined an OkaSuba collab, that’s it. And while the degeneracy that is now traditional when Suichan and Okayu meet is very entertaining, it’s also been covered quite a bit already, and it doesn’t necessarily match the “flavor“ I’ve aimed for with that particular series. She still has a couple days to whip out a bunch of training streams, but I think she might be more likely to do most of the practicing off stream.
I seem to always write novels for my descriptions, but I’m not actually done! I have a lot of potential videos to work on between this series and the Mario Kart one, but I’m always looking for more ideas besides that! For instance, I’m very tempted to make a translated video of Suichan’s “Premiere Pro first steps“ stream. I could capture my screen to show the English interface, and I could give more info on parts that were glossed over, or not explained as fully as I’d have liked. It seems like a really, really niche project though. While I would likely enjoy it, it does feel nice to have views in at least double digits, now and then.
Either way, feedback and ideas are always welcome, and thank you for being patient while my output seems to have slowed to a crawl.
