’Pep Squad’

This is the premiere of our new film ’Pep Squad’! This documentary is about how the ’: Time of Heroes’ festival visited its subjects in Donbass. We brought the fighters films about themselves to show how they are loved and welcomed back home. The screenings took place along the front line in five units and a hospital. ’Pep Squad’ is full of happy meetings and real miracles. The author of the film, the general producer of the festival Ekaterina Yakovleva, sees her brother, who takes out the wounded from the battlefield. Ruslan Gusarov, one of the participants of the pep squad, surprises his son, who is serving on the front line. The soldiers warmly welcome the festival — they share food with the documentary filmmakers, give them the best sleeping bags and even find flowers to present them at the improvised opening ceremony. The first films by Ekaterina Yakovleva and director Oleg Nekishev were seen by guests of the ’: Time of Heroes’ International Festival in Moscow.
