The Beatnix - Help (Beatles cover) - Ernie & Denise Ch 9 June 1994

In June 1994, The Beatnix “performed“ the song Help on the Ernie & Denise Show on TCN9. The musicians performing as The Beatnix on this track were Bruce Coble (myself, as “John“), Steven Shipley (as “Paul“), David Wood (as “George“) & John Taylor (as “Ringo“). This video appearance was one of a number that were taking place to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Beatles 1964 Australian tour. The Ernie & Denise Show was a very low-budget affair. The clapping you can hear at the beginning is actually the stage production crew on the set. The audio was taken from my very first performance on the Midday Show in 1990, & we were miming to that recording of ourselves from 4 years earlier. I even managed to forget to mime a line at the end, which is why I make the expression I do at the end. You will also notice no microphones near the drum kit, etc. All in all, a pretty lame affair, but publicity is publicity, right?
