Candelabrum Necrosferatulum continues this project’s inspired experimental scrying of seemingly disparate influences, into a hybrid of vampiric black metal, garage and surf rock, post-punk and post-rock; melded together under the black mark into a conspiratorial stream of consciousness. As with last year’s debut, Ancient Bloodlines Mean Nothing, this album is a seamless psychedelic trip through the darkened underbelly of many genres, in an incisively cohesive form, delivered with a disarmingly louche menace the belies its’ dread potency.
