A little while ago, this buzzard arrived with us after being found emaciated and unable to fly. With all tests coming back negative, there was only one cause left on the table - the two large tags on the bird’s wings.
Although the removal of tags is an offence, exceptions are made when the tags are shown to have a detrimental effect on the birds health and, after discussion with the relevant bodies, the decision was made to remove them.
Luckily, just five days of food and rest later and the buzzard was almost unrecognisable! With a final sign off, it could finally take to the skies again...
