I’m dreaming of… watching figure skating with my friends and family on Christmas Eve, from the cozy comfort of our living room! 📺🌲 That’s because, at 6:30pm on December 24th, PBS Channel Thirteen will air the Bryant Park Tree Lighting Special all across the tri-state area! There will be singing, music, and performances by Olympians like Mariah Bell, Alexa Knierim, Brandon Frazier, Karen Chen, and many more. And of course special filming by Jordan from On Ice Perspectives ☺️. I’ve dreamed of something like this for so long, and I can’t thank @bryantparknyc, @pbs and @thirteenwnet enough for making it real. In a decade where “skating specials” have been all but abandoned by commercial networks, publicly-funded television continues to air and showcase artistic figure skating. I sincerely hope that these continued efforts can and will encourage the next generation of performers and entertainers.
