Students hold vigil to honour victims of Prague shooting

Students gathered on Thursday evening (December 21) to pay homage to the victims of the shooting at a Prague university and lit candles outside the historic headquarters of Charles University. An American student at Charles University, Justin Douglas Hart, recalled the moment a classmate broke the news of the ongoing shooting and said he felt “incredible discomfort.“’ “It could have been any faculty,“ he added. Alongside Hart was Czech student Anna Marie Newkirova, who said she still struggles to understand what happened. A 24-year-old Czech student shot dead his father, then killed 14 people and wounded 25 others at Prague’s Charles University on Thursday before possibly killing himself, police said, marking the country’s worst-ever mass shooting. The government declared a day of mourning across the central European country for December 23 to remember the victims, decided at a special cabinet meeting with President Petr Pavel. The Sun newspap
