One of a series of sports training films produced by the Coca-Cola Company, “Backfield Ball Handling“ features coach Ben Schwartzwalder, a Hall of Fame football coach at Syracuse University, where he trained future National Football League stars such as Jim Brown, Larry Csonka, Floyd Little and Ernie Davis, the first African American to win the Heisman Trophy. The film was directed by Thad Horton, and shot by Dick Borden. It focuses on the offense, and specifically the handling of the ball in the backfield by the quarterback and fullback.
