The Merriday Park - It All Comes Back To Me 1970

These canadian guys from Thunder Bay, Ontario were known in their early days as The Vandals. Larry Breiland (lead guitar, vocals), Orville Santa (guitar, vocals, harmonica), Rick Baran (bass,), Aldon Norhaugen (keyboards, vocals) and Dave Verrill (drums) formed the band. They changed the name to NRG in 1968, Dave Dahl replacing Baran at the same time. They recorded at DMG Sound Studio (the manager was Don Grashey) songs for a TV show in spring of 1968 : Santa’s “Bird Collector“ and a cover of “Get Outta My Life Woman“. Quickly after they returned into the studio to record their first 45 which was issued in 1969 : “Went Home Today“/“Everybody Do Their Things“ (Columbia C4-2873). The quite pretty “Went Home Today“ and the flip were written by DMG songwriter John Jordan and Tom Horricks (for the flip).
